Ports?

Hi all,

i posted a while back about my bro-in-law having connection probs to Pacific Poker. Its still happening, although last night he connected for the 1st time in 2 months!! Hes with Tiscali and running a Sagem USB modem. The tech support at Tiscali are still emailing with possible workrounds etc. They emailed yest asking: "The port TCP/IP or UDP port that the game uses"? How would he find that out??

er dunno if this will help, but can he go to GRC.com and do a full port scan whilst in the game? should pick any ports open...

 

<Cough> Some of us commute at about this time - so allow *some* time for suggestions!

Best way to get the ports that the game uses is to ask them. Their tech support guys should be able to provide that info.

Also do a netstat in a CMD box. This might give a clue, but if they use a range of port numbers won't give you the whole story.

While doing a quick google to see if the info was about I noticed several comments to the effect that Pacific Poker had some of the most unreliable servers known!
