permission inheritance - XP pro / NTFS

    Question:

    When you move a file within the same NTFS partition, it keeps it's permissions...If you move a file to another NTFS partition, will it inherit the permissions at it's destination? (obviously it will lose them if transferred to FAT partition, but what happens from one NTFS partition to another?)...

    when you copy a file, does it lose it's permissions regardless of where copied to?

    Are there some situations within the above where there are exceptions?
