    I finally got around to taking the N+ again that my Boss wanted me to do, passed with 863. Think I'm gonna go for 70-270 now then do the 70-680 after that.

    cheers was a bit of a PITA I had to re-do it because my boss wanted me to be upto date I had been planning to have my 70-270 by now.

    lol I hope not. Whilst your about where does the 70-270 come on the NQF table in relation to the MCDST?

    It's hard to say now... On the NQF the whole MCSA was at level 3 (this included all the modules), but the NQF is practically dead now, the new framework is the QCF. To my knowledge the MCSA isn't mapped acrossed. The new Microsoft Technology Associates are currently being mapped acrossed, but the results won't be released until March/April next year (however it's being expected to be mapped across to level 2 or 3).

    Some of the professional certifications are now being mapped across to the SFIA rather than the academic framework, eg the A+ while it was a level 2 qualification on the NQF, it's mapped to level 2 (on the way to level 3) of the SFIA.

    Well done GBL. As above, learn any new tricks? How was the exam compared to the older one?

    Knowing what you know now, would you advise anyone with the older N+ to sit the latest version?

    Any plans on when you will smash 270?

    Yes I did learn some new stuff that wasn't in the older one. Lots on IPv6 not just is this a proper IPv6 address or how do you do this IP into IPv6 more of a if you type this into IPv6 capable setup what would happen plus others (btw that wasn't a real question), autonegotiation and that type of thing, there was a lot more subnetting and CIDR seems to be how just about any IP and subnet was written instead of the old way. wether it was laziness on the writers part or how they are doing it now is anyones guess.

    If anyone has the older one but still struggless or wants to refresh I would say get the books, take the exam if you want. I would recommend the Network+ book by Todd Lammie and Mike Meyers all in one.

    Not sure when I will do the 70-270 depends how I get on but hopefully by March.

    Congrats on the accomplishment (and satisfying your sadist boss :D) I also use the Lammle book and found that it covered the topics quite well.
