    Hi all,

Thought I’d let you know I passed the N+ with 640. Feels great but I feel absolutely shattered! Have done 3 exams in 3 months. (A+ and N+)

I probably could of got a better pass score but didn’t have as much study time as I wanted (my work pays and books my exams for me). Anyways a pass is a pass and on to the next one, but first a round of drinks and some relaxation time, who’s with me :alc

I used the N+ sybex book by David Groth which I found fine because not only have I been IT for a while but I used the sybex book for my A+

Not sure what I can and can’t say but I would advise people to know:

Ethernet and FDDI cable types off by heart e.g. 10base-T, 1000base-SX. know what cables they use, how far they can travel what connectors they use.

Know all topology's, wireless connections(& WAP's), DHCP, DNS and how they all operate.

and lastly how Microsoft, Netware, Mac os x and unix/linux clients and servers interact with each other, what protocols and software is needed for them to interact with each other.

I would say they are the key points but trust me you do need to read up on everything.

Congratulations on the pass, Matt. You've been studying and taking tests at a breakneck speed. Why don't you take a breather before going on to the next challenge. Your body and brain could probably use the break.

Thanks all, I think my next exam will be Microsoft XP (70-270).

I tell you Tripwire45 the dedication I've got for getting exams is huge, although I've been in IT for a while my age is still young and I do need qualifications as well as my experience to progress, but your defiantly right I need a break, my eyes have been hurting (think it’s through eye strain) and I’ve been getting headaches reading, might need reading glasses. I’m glad I’ve got the dedication to get these quals but I need to learn to rest, I’ve done so much revising of late I ended up confusing myself.

All ok now, but will take a couple of weeks out and get back to doing simple things like reading the newspaper on the train and watching TV after work! ahhh the simple pleasures in life! :-)
