I just bought a computer but it does not have os. I am debating whether to get xp or install my win98. What are the benifits of changing OS?

Win98: Ya got it already, but it's old.

XP: It's new, fast and BIG, and ya gotta buy it !

    Verdict: Go with XP !

Thats my ramblings on that !

    Thanks Gav

Can you/anyone give me a bigger idea of XP. I'm trying to justify paying all that money to Bill Gates if i can do the same on my W98.

What is the age of the pc?. If it is older I would recommend 98 as with xp you need 128MB SDRAM minimum and will more than certainly have to upgrade the modem as even my 3 yr old comps modem was'nt XP compatiable when I upgraded. Personally I think 98 (second edition) is a great OS, alot depends on ithe computers stats and what you intend using it for.
