Ok so its nearly come round to another year and I'm thinking of learning a new language.

I've narrowed the candidates to :-

    F#
    Python
    Haskell
    Erlang
    R
    OCaml

Current favourites are OCaml and F#.

Does anyone have any thoughts on the relative merits of these languages and which one might be worth learning and why ?

My style is only to learn a new language when I have to!

I have enough trouble remembering the different syntax of 'if' statements between C, Perl and shell without making things worse!
