Hi Guys,

I can officially announce that I have a new job!!!
Its at a startup based in Fenchurch Street and I cannot wait.

Its kind of like what I am doing now, but a lot more access to Powershell, Python, Linux, JamF, SCCM and loads more. They are really keen to promote from within so as soon as I have the CyberOps done, straight back into my CCNA.

Significant pay rise, as well as 2000 shares (Currently at £10.00 per share) as well as a massive chance to learn and progress.

REALLY cant wait to start!

In all honesty mate, I didn't think I had a shot! REALLY surprised to even get a second Interview, let alone a job offer.
Resigned on Monday, and have 5 weeks notice so hopefully that will fly by.

Want to get the Cyber Ops out the way, then really focus on work for a few months. Really looking to hit the CCNA though as they want to grow their network team.

Yeah that helped. Sacrificed a 3k Bonus at the current place

 

So probation was passed today
Now to concentrate on the CCNA R&S and get that move into NOC.

Have a meeting with the internal recruitment team this week hopefully so will keep you updated.

So had an email from internal recruitment, I have an Interview for the Network role.
I have 0.0.0% chance of getting it as I have no networking experience and my only networking cert is N+ which in all honesty, isn't enough qualifications wise. Im just chuffed to even have an interview.

I am going to go in, take it very serious and just be honest. Explain that although I don't have the knowledge, I will read what they tell me, watch what they tell me and do what they tell me. I am attending CommSupport on the 22nd of July so that will hopefully look favourably on my part and I am going to go in with a list of Qualifications that I want to aim for.

Worst case: Thanks, but no thanks. Come back when you have some qualifications!
Best case: Lets give him a shot and see what happens!

I'm on service desk and it's starting to get depressing doing the same thing every day.

I need a new challenge.

 

Just keep going mate. It will happen.
The job spec is totally out of my league. But my thinking is, if I show I am interested, maybe they will give me a shot in the future.

Have you spoken to your line manager? Try and take on some extra work?

 

I've done desktop support and user admin such as setting up accounts.

I really need to get out of IT support all together tbh lol.

I got my CCNA soon and there's a few jobs that have been posted in my area for NOC and trainee network engineer positions
