New Job: Day One

Well I shipped up to my new job this morning. Spending the whole day setting up the PC, installing all the software, etc.

Everyone seems nice enough (Although my desk is currently with the recruiters, rather than with the IT bods).

Today I am now officially a Software Developer. Off to change my job title here.

I was an Account Administrator before. (Above 1st Line, working with AD to create/delete user accounts, and to provide directory access, etc).

Let's just say he's "breaking with tradition".

 

Well, just finished day 5.

Spent two and a half days just installing all the software, etc. Then I spent a bit of time getting acquainted with the particular application im developing.

Today and yesterday I finally got to get stuck into coding for the app. Its quite good, I quite like being able to just sit down and focus on coding to the exclusion of all else.

 

I drink tea (and coke).

So far its all been good. havent had to lift a hand to make tea yet.
