skim what you're sure you know, work through what you're unsure of.

If you have already taken the tests, don't lull yourself into a false sense of security by taking them again, getting a good score and think you're OK. As most of the people on CF will no doubt tell you, you will subconciously remember the correct answer from the last time you took it for some of those questions, especially if you only recently took the tests. You will get it right, but you may not understand it.

Instead, I would suggest going through the tests again but put emphasis on why an answer is right and another wrong, rather than redoing the tests as tests, if you have already taken them. Basically, you are trying to understand why this time, rather than trying to hit 800/900.

And, when it comes to the real exam, make sure you answer all questions, plus read the questions properly. Also, try to make sure you give yourself time to go through the questions again.

In addition, don't skim over a question... it may ask you to select ALL that apply. For those, you see a tick box, as opposed to a radio button that means you need select just one answer.

They may also ask you in the negative, such as... which of the following is NOT an example of a wireless networking standard: 802.11a, 802.1Q, 802.11b, 802.11g, and so on.

I am sure you know all this from the A+ exam you've already done anyway... so, all that remains for me to say is all the very best for Monday. I will be thinking of you.

If I can do it, you can do it. Get plenty of rest the night before, eat a good breakfast (I'm not kidding...low blood sugar will sink your brain cells faster than anything) and once the test starts, focus on one question at a time. Don't forget to mark any questions you want to recheck and go back (assuming there's time) and revise if need be). Good luck.

Giddy makes mental note... 'Eat lots of Mars Bars on day of next exam'... .

Any excuse to binge on chocolate... heh heh... and I can now show my wife that I have to do it, coz it says so on CF. :biggrin Well... sort of.

Ah... did you have to sit a test before it then, to see if you were ready? At least you know more than you did a week ago... what with all that cramming! 8)

I suppose that's a good thing, because it means you still have the voucher to use at a later date. They cost almost £200 to buy from scratch...

When are you doing the MCDST then?

Sorry to hear that, but everyone misses the mark sometimes. No worries. You'll catch it the second time around. Good luck on the MCDST. :D
