I quite agree, Equilibrium was one of my favorites.
Bit daft in places but a good story with some good action.

I'm a big fan of Sean Pertwee too, but he gets killed horribly in just about every film he appears in.

Thanks mate, you spared my blushes.

It is a bit daft, but a clever concept, and incorporates a kung-fu system with guns! Great stuff

Shout to Phoenix, totaly forgot about Event Horizon, watched that just last week. Excellent film

My best goes to Event Horizon too.

Underrated - it's a recent film, but I really enjoyed Franklyn. I agree with others - Galaxy Quest is good for a giggle too :)

Oh, I have seen it before, when it came out in '97, was on ITV4 and caught it randomly.

Nope. Don't fancy him at all.

Sean Pertwee (as in John Pertwee's son) is 'Father' in Equilibrium.
On topic, he's the pilot 'Smith' in Event Horizon too.

He's in quite a few films as a not-quite-a-star and as I said, tends to get killed a lot.
For those of you who like pub quizzes, I guess Equilibrium would be the odd one out as he doesn't get killed, his character was dead all the time...

Also inaccurate. Sean Bean survives in the (hugely underrated) Silent Hill. He also survives in Ronin - if I remember correctly. You're half-right though Dave, he does seem to be one of those actors who ends up getting knocked off in loads of his films. To take this even further off-topic, he is absolutely f***ing awesome as Boromir.

Love Event Horizon and Sam Neil. That bit where he's in the crawl space thing and the woman appears with no eyes I s*it myself! ha ha

Equilibrium was mega and that bit where he shoots the screen and says "I'm coming" then goes and does 20 odd fellas in is brilliant, similar to how I'd handle that situation . . . . :biggrin

**Edit : Love Sean Bean too, he did a great film years ago about footy. But he's great in Silent Hill, loved that film too.

Zeb don't you think it would of been much better having Sean as Faramir i.e. in 2 films rather than Boromir in the 1st one

He could have been in all three, though I may be mistaken - I seem to recall reading or hearing that he initially auditioned for the part of Legolas. Far more effective as Boromir!

Favourite film is too difficult to just pick one, so many good films: Matrix, Terminator 2, Alien, Fifth Element, MIB

Underrated/over looked: Serenity and also check out Firefly the series, well worth it!

Ooh, yeah. Love the fifth element.

Not sure if it ranks with 'best film' or 'underated film' - but one of my favorites.

Oh, and as far as Sean Bean prone to dying - he was pretty indestructible in Sharpe!

The Fifth Element is one of my favourite films for sure, but it can't be rated IMO as a "classic" alongside films mentioned like Aliens, Event Horizon etc.

Oh, if I can vote for "worst ever" too I'd like to nominate Doom. What a crap attempt at film-making that was :)
