Sure, no wireless is really secure... but usually, the less secure it is, the less "pain" there is in setting it up. Mitzs "painless" comment got me concerned. :)

No it is not secure in the least. I disable that last night just for the reason of setting it up. Where I live at and the distance between houses I was not worried about that at the moment. However I will do it today because I do not want mike to come and chew me out.:biggrin

AJ what level of security did you set up for yours? This is my first go at it. Is the WAP I think that is what I saw last night necessary? Remember I live in an area where cell phones only come in and then only in spots when the leaves fall off the trees. I think someone would actually have to be sitting in my drive way to pick up the signal. And my drive way is atleast one story above the road and cells phone do not pick up down there. And my house is way above the drive way.

You must have got one of the newer ones. Mine is 7.50.2 now, but I had to upgrade it.

WPA personal with AEP with a looooonnnnnnnggggggg network key.

I can actually "see" about 5 wireless networks not including mine from my laptop so security is an issue.

You've gotta figure out where I am first... I could be anywhere within wireless range. 8)
