    Nowadays with so many options at our finger tips, do you prefer to interact with colleagues at work or headphones on and get stuff done?

    I am the only IT Person in the office so I always have people popping over to me. However, I would be more than happy just sitting there with headphones on all day and getting through my work.

    Spoke to a colleague in another office and he said he needs to have that face to face interaction.

    Just wondered what you guys prefer or is it just me?

    The current playlist is Iron Maiden and AC/DC by the way!

    A good thread @Jaron78. Unfortunately for me I do not have a choice now as I work from home. A lot of the Architects in our place do as it's all results orientated if you will, except for when we are summoned by our customer. We can go into an office but as none of us do, this is few and far between and usually only for a team meeting, so there's not much point.

    I enjoy going into the office, prior to this job all of my IT work had been on teams in an office so I enjoy the banter. Staying at home gives us all a virtual payrise having zero travel costs.

    We speak to each other, our towers , commercial etc using skype and it's fine. We screen share when we peer review or collaborate. It's enough to fend off cabin fever but no where near as good as working in an office.

    You can play music all day in your shorts if you wish, not that I do. As long as you deliver what you say you will when you say you will.

    We're allowed a radio on in the office, in fact we've built an internet radio out of a raspberry pi. The unfortunate thing is I'm not allowed to pick the channel :(

    I sit in my office at the end of the hall where I get very few visitors. I occasionally listen to stuff on headphones so I don't bother my co-workers down the hall.

    We recently started a shared Spotify playlist in work which has been good for the most part. All pick songs for the playlist and keep it on shuffle. One of the guys has a love of anything banjo which can be a bit much when you are trying to focus!
