I am trying to craete a form using text form fields, Check Boxes and Drop-downs. The form needs to have a couple of sections across the page in a sort of pane style. The problem I have is that when the form is locked and the user fills in the text flelds, Word will start to move the other parts of the form around to accomodate the text. Is there a simple way I can align groups of text so they are "fixed" and do not move, irrespective of there being any or no text in the filed to it's left?

    Luton,

I have been playing around with this and have tried several things such as using tabs, setting how many characters are allowed in the field and putting the fields into a table. However, all of these still move the items on the right to allow all the characters entered in the form to be seen. The only thing that I can think of at this stage is to use text boxes to fix the text where you want it.

    Will continue to investigate!

Many thanks for trying to help, I probably should have posted what I had already tried on Friday as we tried more or less the same things! I think I have solved the problem (pending user feedback) by inserting tables then putting the text boxes and fixed text within individual cells.

    Once again thanks
