Microsoft jumps gun on Office 2010 announcement

According to a Techrepublic article :

Microsoft is expected to unveil the Office 2010 suite at the Worldwide Partner Conference in New Orleans this evening, but apparently someone forgot to tell the web developers.

For a brief period earlier today the Microsoft Office 2010 website went live. While the plug was quickly pulled on the site, it wasn’t before Google had time to create a cached snapshot of it!

Here's the full article with some videos and the Google cached page is here

No doubt a lot more will leak after the Partner Conference ! :p

Don't MS have a history of launching new products in a blaze of FUBAR?

if by 'history' you mean a few incidents in the countless product releases they have and by FUBAR you mean 'some lame mistake that really doesn't undermine much for the most part' then sure they are all about that stuff

On the other hand, it's usually a great way to drum up some free publicity and hype. They're probably lacking attendees in the developer conferences so this might be a way to generate some interest.

    True.

Where's the little link on that webpage that says 'this page would look better if you installed Silverlight'...
