More laptop woes

    Thanks guys.

    Getting rid of backing up the system state has lowered the time substantially.

    In true techie style it good to see you didn't just hose the system. The hard work paid off and I agree with Jak, just the bare necessity's, docs, music, email.

    It's a good job that I had the backup volume eh.

    I could have run CHKDSK from the recovery console if I could have run it, correct?

    I'm a bit peed after reading the link I provided earlier, explaining why it won't accept my admin password, because the OS was installed via Sysrep.

    Did you try with an empty password? As I recall it gives you 3 tries like a normal logon. If it was sysprepped then the chances are it has an empty pw.[​IMG]

    Yeah.

    My backup just failed because it couldn't access a certain file.

    Oh well, will have to start again:!:
