Did anyone receive an email from Microsoft to say they are now a "Microsoft Specialist"?

Did anyone else receive an email from Microsoft about becoming a "Microsoft Specialist"?

 

Whilst I cant answer your question with a gospel answer as I've not taken these specialist exams I believe you dont get email confirmation and your results are displayed when you log into the exam site e.g Pearsons, and view candidate history.

Do these specialist certs expire?

 

I have a number of previous MCTS exams, so I'm probably the equivalent, but no I didn't get an email recently.

The email was to advise that I am now a "Microsoft Specialist" and not a exam result/score. You are correct in that when you finish the exam at the test center the result/score is displayed on the screen. As far as I know the MCSE certificate expires after 3 years, I dont think the MCSA or lower certificates expire at present.

 

Dunno, not bothered to check, still listed on mcp member site..

I also got one this weekend, it has happened before they create a new certification for a bit of extra money and if you have an older one automatically upgrade you which just seems silly to me I have not taken any of there exams for years but I have the certification quick way to devalue a certification.

 

It does seem strange, I dont really see the need for it as there is the MCP and MCTS certificates at that level.

 

I got the email a couple days ago too, just treated it as spam. I did the exam a couple years ago so I found it odd that M$ would be emailing me now, but you're right now MCTS and Microsoft Specialist.
