    Hi all,

I hoping you guys can point me in the right direction for some kind of certification.

To give you my background I'm an Excel Developer working to a fairly high standard with VBA with such projects as automation, database design, de dupes and data mining.

In an ideal world I'd just get the MS VBA certification but (stupid Microsoft) they don't deem VBA to be important enough anymore.

I've also has some dabbling with SQL 2005 (in as much as I can use Inner Joins and create Views etc) and I've done 6 months of Data Mining using SQL as the main tool.

In another life I also I had a CCNA but thats waaaay in the past but I do have some knowledge of networking

Anyway I have no plans to change from my current carreer path but would like some kind of MCP certification to look good on my CV.

    Any Suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Its pretty obvious isn't it ?

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcitp/dbdev/default.mspx

    or

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/mcitp/dbadmin/default.mspx

thats about it as far as I know, not sure what the plans are for VBA, is it getting the .Net treatment ?

Theres MCDBA but you'd probably be more interested in the newer cert above.

or you can do a MOS track, maybe more your thing...

    http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mcp/officespecialist/requirements.mspx

or theres the newer MCAS or MCAP

Guess its not so simple after all ! Good old Microsoft ! :D

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll take a gander at those courses.

I should have mentioned that I'm already MOS Master so that’s not really an option.

I just want something that will allow me to call myself MCP so I have some tangible qualification for customers/employers to look at.

As for VBA it looks like its being replaced with VSTO
