The head of the IS Department where I'm temporarily assigned just handed in his resignation, effective December 5th. That means my last month will be under a different regime. Here's the "plan". They promote everyone one level. 2nd in command becomes head honcho, the guy under him becomes the 2nd in command. The person I replace goes one up the ladder leaving....me. Well, a pipe dream at best, but who knows?

Well, we'll see. I'm not getting my hopes up. All kinds of thing could happen. I could see them making Ron (2nd in cmd) the temp supervisor until they bring another big cheese on board. We'll just have to wait and see.

The current supervisor Pete has been doing a bit of day trading as I understand it, waiting for his "magic number to hit". He's also got some money squirreled away from the death of his Father. Guess the "number" finally hit. He's planning to start a business in Rio with his 23 year old girlfriend (the guy is in his 50s and has a 25 year old son). Sounds like a middle-aged man's idea of heaven. I hope it works out for him. Probably not what I'd do if I could "semi-retire" but I'm just a different kind of person, I guess.
