Pathetic scaremongering tech journalism at its best. I don't know of a single other person who is responsible for EPO in their organisation (at SME level or above anyway) who has been affected by this. Had a couple of people with systems that update direct from McAfee's NAI repositories that got rinsed - but that was because the deployment of the client was handled by local departments who didn't set up the repository correctly.

I repeat - anyone - ANYONE - who has EPO in place (which, IMO, should be anyone running VirusScan on more than 25 seats) who got affected by this is an idiot. I feel more sorry for the smaller shops - not big enough to run EPO, but still big enough to have the headache of sorting the mess out on 20-odd machines. Nothing for them to do but sneakernet the manual fix.
