We got a call at 3am on Sunday morning from my wife's best friend, Traci, who lives in New Mexico. She told us that her 15-year old son, Tomas, was in a bad car accident. Although Tomas was wearing a seat belt, he was thrown through the windshield, severing two arteries in his head and lacerating his liver. He was dead at the scene, but the paramedics were able to revive him.

Ultimately, the injuries were too great, and he finally passed away later that morning.

Traci's husband, George, is not Tomas' father. George and Traci currently care for several foster children that they are about to adopt... but Tomas was Traci's only child. I can't even imagine what it would be like to lose Hayden or Brandon.

Six years ago, Traci's father went missing. He was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Ever since her father's suicide, Tomas has been Traci's stability and her reason for living. Karen and I worry about how Tomas' death will affect Traci. For those of you who pray, please pray that the Lord will comfort her and reassure her that He is the ultimate source for stability.

BM you can tell them they have my prayers. Its never easy losing a loved one, more so when that loved one is your child. It never seems right for a parent to out live thier kids, deep down you always wish you go before they do. Its a tragic loss that may never heal.

A friend of mine lost her husband 18 month ago, then last october, she lost her father. Now all she has left is her son. I know, if she ever lost him that she would be distraught and traumatised. The funny thing is i fell for her now and dread this ever happening to her (i knew her dad but not her husband, and my son is friends with hers) so i can gues how you feel right now.

As i said at the start, prayers go to her, and to you and yours as you must be feeling horrible about this too and not sure how to handle the situation and what to say.

Sorry to hear about your friends situation, life taken away at such a young age is just a heart breaking thing. All I can say to you is try and be supportive to Traci & the rest of her family. Having friends & loved ones around can be a good way to attempt to calm the situation.

Once again I'm sorry for whats happened.

BM, she has my thoughts and prayers too. Its a very tragic loss...I remember back in Sept 2000, my mum received bad news that her sister's first born son along with his wife and their first born son (who was named after me) all died in a bus accident. She was distraught for a week. So yes its bad when u lose someone u love especially ur own child. I dont know how I would I react or cope if my own son passed away before me.

I just hope she can pull through and the best you can do right now is be there for her...

Michael that is so sad, such a tragic thing. Of course my condolences go to Traci and her family and anyone, including yourself that has been affected by the circumstances of this terrible accident.

Hopefully, in time, she will be able to come to terms with it.

My deepest prayers go out to Traci and George, utterly soul destroying! at times like this the world is a very cruel place. Boson - as a caring man we all know you are, you must offer comfort to your friends and let them know that all is not lost.

MY HEART IS WITH THEM AND WITH U. SO SORRY BOSON :cry::cry:
