Hello all, complete newby here so forgive me if I'm stepping out of line asking this outright here. I tried searching.

Anywho, I'm looking to start a career in cyber security and im having trouble finding resources and solid information I can trust. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I want to get my CompTIA Sec+ cert but unsure on how to find a worthy school that I can take classes online. Or do I just get the book and study, study, study and go take the test. I am new to the field although I'm no novice with computers and technology. There's a lot of misinformation out there and I don't know what's ligit and what's not. But this is something I've always wanted to do and finally have a chance. Any positive feedback would be greatly appreciated. I live in DC if that needs to be said. Thank you for time.

Hi Cyberbound and welcome to CF.

    I would recommend https://www.professormesser.com

He has free training courses that you can view and help you pass your Security +.

There is also training courses for the A+ and N+.

    Hope that helps a little.

    Kind Regards

Thanks Rob, I'll be sure to check him out. In your opinion could one pass the exams using the method only or should I use that as a tool alongside formal schooling?
