I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this question, but I'm sure someone will move it if needs be...

I have no hands on experience, but I may be in a very general support role very soon (working under someone with lots of experience, of course).

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good book to help me hit the ground running. I know that no book is a replacement for actual experience, but a guide that can give me lots of useful info and help me avoid some embarrassing noob errors would be a great help.

Take a look at the Street Smarts Series of books.

They'll help you hit the ground running.
