Hi guys ive been given a challenge by my MD, we have been given VPN access to a clients network. It connects using Cisco VPN client V4.6. He wants to be able to restrict and log access to/with that application. The PC it is sitting on is Win2000. Any ideas how i can go about doing this within 2000 or with external software?

    Cheers

could you not use NTFS permissions on the directory its in as well as the actual executable file?

with auditing enabled this could be logged and tracked every time the EXE is run
tie this together with firewall logs and you cna track exactly when a connection was established rather than just when the program was launched

Yeap could do it that way, will give it a try and see what the results look like, dont want to spend too much time rejigging things for when he wants the reports. (wants monthly access reports!!)

    Cheers
