Linux virgin

    It is a good idea to do a checksum whenever downloading anything. Especially if you want to burn the image to CD/DVD. This way you have less tea coasters! :biggrin

    did a checksum on my iso's ive got for linux so far and all of them r different!!!

    god damn it!!!!

    back to fresh downloads again...

    Maybe you're just using the wrong md5 checksum from the sites if all your downloads have the wrong checksums. That's the first thing I would look at.

    no i double checked and even used a different md5 program just to make sure and the results were the same

    download ubuntu again and the checksum is perfect :biggrin

    now to get the others later, got work now :(

    Just curious, Inqueision. What sort of link are you using for the download? Dial-up? DSL?

    ive got a ntl cable connection why?

    i went on to the ubuntu forum and found out some people have been having problems with the mouse and found out you can edit one of the modules (hope ive got that correct) to make it work so ive got that as a back up if this new install of ubuntu doesnt go well (even thou it should)

    rite hopefully i wont be postin nemore on these downloads and checksums! the post waz meant to be for ross and his curiosity for linux lol
