    Hello,

I was wondering if the Linux+ certification is good to find a job with no experience in Canada or US (remote work) or if there is a better certification out there ... besides the RHCSA which I don't think I can pass without experience I'm willing to study anything.

My background is in data center (rack and stack) and tech support.

    Thank you for any feedback

Hi Leon, I'd say it definitely wouldn't hurt, and it shouldn't be expensive to get. I'd not pay a training company for something like this, I'd self study using a book like this for the XK0-004 exam which is still the latest until at least the summer

There are others. i think the longest standing is Linux Professional Institute https://www.lpi.org/ they have free learning materials too, and their exams are kept up to date https://learning.lpi.org/en/learning-materials/learning-materials/ (LPIC1 2 etc..)
Also the Linux Foundation https://www.linuxfoundation.org/ with LFCS and LFCE (certified admin / engineer) https://training.linuxfoundation.org/full-catalog/?_sft_product_type=certification

Which one is best... hard to say, the LF exam is practical realtime taken online or a test center. one exam. Works out cheaper they often have sales on. some free training on there I think, bundles etc.

LPI is multiple choice sort of thing 90 mins per exam, x2 exams for one cert. Never seem to have sales on, have discount off codes, there is training on the Cisco academy for these 2 exams and you get discounts for the exam with these. Also there is a free lpi foundation cert course on Cisco academy. Check the objectives on both sites

LF big company maybe in it for the money more than LPI. Check your job ads be good guide, dont see them asked for much in UK ads, although LPIC has been around a lot longer some would argue their exam can be dumped easier but prob an interview would check that.

heres the link of cisco academy https://www.netdevgroup.com/online/courses/linux
