When I saw this one, I was reminded of some of the posts in Boyce's recent thread:

    http://www.certforums.co.uk/forums/thread6133.html

This handy tutorial on Linux Device Drivers is aimed right at the Linux beginner (myself included) and teaches some useful and basic stuff. Thought I'd share it here.

Good link. :D What I have decided to do is put Pro back on my laptop and Ubuntu on my slave on my desktop. That way I can still learn Linux while not loosing the use of what is my main computer-the laptop. :D
Thanks to everyone. As usual top class advice from CF :iluvcf

It's not you Trip, it is me. I am sure it is a good article, it certainly starts off making some sense but I started to lose it later on. I am a very much a newby to Linux having installed Ubuntu a few days ago and there is so much to learn. With me learning can be likened to throwing mud at a wall, some of it sticks but most falls off

Hopefully in a year or so I will be able to contribute something of my own but at the moment I am only playing :blink

    Watch this space :D

lol it took me three years to get those certs mate, sure it sticks eventually but I can only learn if I understand the material. I have a real problem remembering things parrot fashion, it is as though my brain refuses to file the information. So it takes time, as I try and build a foundation for my understanding, something which enables me to build on the knowledge. The good news is that once it is in my noggin, it stays there for what seems like forever :biggrin I still remember things I learnt 25 years ago, so it is worth the pain.
