    Hi All,

I'm looking for a new server as a home lab - currently have 2x Dell PE 1950s, which do fine for running ESXi but the old hardware means I cannot run everything how I want to (eg. running Hyper-V v3)... So have been looking at any server I can find with a Xeon 5500 or newer CPU.

Mostly been looking at Dell R610 / R710, these are quite pricey so having a look at alternatives - one I have seen is the Lenovo ThinkServer RD210, seen one which has 2x processors and 48gb RAM for about 7-800 quid, which would do what I wanted, but a few negatives, hasn't got a proper RAID card (that would be a couple hundred extra) and I dont know what it is like for remote management, other features etc... it says it has a "virtual media key" and "virtualisation module", can't really find a lot of info about what these actually do??? I would like to be able to remote KVM like with a DRAC / ILO etc...

alternatively, if anyone knows of any similar spec servers going cheap, or any good suppliers of used servers (I just look on ebay) then please let me know
