Well after 3+ years and countless job applications, I have been offered an IT support role with a civil engineering company.
Its both thrilling and scary. Scary because after 7 years in my existing role I am jumping from one industry to a quite different one.
Thrilling because its a step in the direction I really want to go in and its a release from I job I have become increasingly disillusioned with.
The firm were impressed that aside from working full time, I am also undertaking a BSc in Computing and IT, through the OU. In fact they have offered that any request for "resources will be considered".
The only thing now is the small matter of salary negotiation :-(
I am taking a hit which I expected, but trying to soften the blow.
