Hello to all (is anyone else daft enough to be up at 05:50 on a Sunday morning?)

Anyway, I was led here through a series of random clicks while trying to find info for the course I'm halfway through (having issues with perl - anyone fluent in perl at all? - worth asking) and thought the forum looked interesting, insightful and a very familial atmosphere.

<Grin> The snag is that it is used heavily in the Web world - so is hard to avoid! And other languages, such as PHP and Ruby, have borrowed heavily from Perl.

Yeah, my run-in with Ruby was about a week ago Perl and I will probably make friends at some point, just not when I need to set up a cron job on WAMP on Win2K with my boss nagging me nonstop. (Choices: crash course in batch files, crash course in Perl, or - oh look - download this nice little thing which does it for me instead )

 

Not a chance! I STILL haven't slept, although I was in bed at that hour. Couldn't be bothered to sit at pc so went on laptop.

 

I like your style, but have to aree with Harry, there is way too much based on perl to avoid it.

I've completed all but the last part of it, I'm just going back through from the beginning again before I try to tackle the final assessment. Have been for the past few days.
