Job Position closed early

I saw a job advertised towards the back end of last week and thought it would be a great one to go for as it is the exact same as i do now but 4k more. I have went back to the advert today and it says it is now closed but it was supposed to close on the 14/08/2009.

Do you think if i go across to the office with my cv and covering letter and hand it in personally they may just look at it?

If it's a recruiter and you're a very good "fit" for the job, possibly, otherwise they'll probably just ignore your application. If it's a company direct then def send it in with a good covering letter.

Don't ask, don't get ! Be aware though that in the current climate with numerous applicants it does tend to happen a lot.
