Sorry everybody for not posting a reply. I am using Windows XP Professional. Here is some more information on my problem.
I created another user account. An Administrator account and then ran Internet Explorer and everything worked fine.
But when I switch to my other user account I still have the same problem with IE. Does anyone have any othe suggestions. Maybe delete the old account and keep the new one, but how do I transfer settings or is that impossible.

Sounds like you have a corrupted profile as Zeb suggested!

I did what you suggested and got this error in the process.

Cannot copy index: The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user mapped section.

My Intenet Explorer favorites are there, so that solves my Internet Explorer error. What should I check to see if the job is complete. I looked at some programs I have setup in my old profile and they are not setup in my new profile. The programs group exist in my new profile, but when I click on the program icon it begins the setup /installation program. I want to import all my settings including Itunes music library. Windows media player library. I guess I will need to install program over again huh?

Hmmm, not sure, did you log in as the new user before you started the copy process?

Yes followed the process. Logged as the new user. Opened Explorer copied user profiles files from Old user profile located in Documents and Settings. Pasted old user profiles into new user profile directory and got that error that I described. The good new is Internet Explorer has the favorites from the old user profile and working properly but not all of the settings from the old user profile have been tranferred. I will probably just delete the old user profile at this point. and reinstall and configure my apps in the new user profile even though this seems like the long way.

    Any suggestions?

    Ok Thanks Again.
