    Hello,
Does anyone know the average temp an Intel P4 530j skt775 is supposed to run at?
I just built 2 identical systems using this chip and one sits at 50/51c and the other at 60c. The system temp is 28/30c on both.
Been trawling the intel site for info but aint finding what I need, no mention of the "ideal" temp in supplied documentation other than system below 38c.
    Thanks in advance

its not unusual to see a figure with a difference that small as it could really just be down to the application of thermal paste, and or/how the heatsink was originally placed on the processor, a little slip will cause the paste to smear and be slightly less effective, or if u applied ur own paste, a difference there will equate to a difference

I know my system used to average around 40 something under normal load, but a) i dont have any temp monitors installed anymore
and b) i run WCG now which maxes my processor out most the time lol

i think 50 - 60 sounds reasonable for a processor of that spec
    but i cant be sure

    check www.anandtech.com
the do ALOT of reviews with processors, they may well comment on the temp and how it compares to others/weather its acceptable or not

    Hello Mrnice,
I found this it may help you. scrool down to idenitfying your processor. I couldn't give you a direct link because I couldn't tell which processor was yours. However, this does give you the thermal spec as in the example I posted below. Let us know how it goes.

    Hi,
Thanks again for the input guy's. After reseating the heatsink I got it down to 51c. The new clamp design on the cpu is good, the heatsink clamps are kinda crappy.
    Cheers.
