Informing interest of quitting

    Not really. All you have to do is do a good job and provide value to the employer. As such, I've never been fired from a job. In fact, I haven't been unemployed since 1989.

    And if the UK is anything like the US, you WILL encounter those people elsewhere. There's 1.2 million people in the Greater Metro Nashville area, and I routinely run into people in the industry with whom I have worked.

    Fergal's comments are spot on. I've worked for one supervisor in two different jobs and another supervisor in THREE different jobs. Had I burned bridges, that wouldn't have been possible.

    I hope not as thats all my employer gives out is a standard reference. I have thought about having a word with my boss as where I work they are taking the mick out of me and I know I'm under paid by about 5k complared to the rest of IT at my grade just cause I'm in Newcastle. I'd be careful as they could make your life hard if you rant at them.
