iv read that its imperitive for the 2007 exam that I know the 802 standards, however the exam objectives dont mention any other than .2 .3 .5 and .11

Also - how much am i supposed to know about them? simply that .11 is wireless .3 is ethernet etc etc or do i need to know details about what the standards specify?

In the 2007 exam, essentially that was it. You needed to be able to tell the difference between them (mainly 3,5 and 11 as you said), what type of access method they used (CSMACA/CSMACD) and possible speeds of supported technologies (a,b,g wireless, ethernet, token ring).
