Can anyone tell me when you format the hard disc in ms-dos 6.22. you type the command format c: at the command prompt and press enter to run the command. which of the following files interprets the command that you entered.

    Io.sys
    msdos.sys
    config.sys
    command.com

Give me the correct answer and I will send you a virtual Pint.

    Thank you.
    Peter.

P.s how do you get a picture on your profile.:biggrin

I reckon Io.sys would do that, as that is the basic input/output interpreter. But then I might be relieving myself in a strong breeze :blink

i have to say i believe its command.com. command.com is the ms-dos file which contains and translates all the dos commands, such as dir, ren, etc. so in my opinion it would be command.com

    can i ask why?

I am on a course with computeach and some of the questions are throwing me, it is a 90% pass mark with them and when you submit your answers to them they don't tell you what you get wrong and you end up going round in circles and doubting your answers even if they a right.

    Life's a Beech.

    Thanx Fergal.
