Take a look at the HTC Legend. Came out the same time as the Desire but with a smaller form factor.

Had mine a couple of weeks now and love it to bits. I have, however, found one incredibly annoying irritation - the headphone jack is pants and keeps recognising my headphones as a headset and skipping around like mad when I'm playing music. Apparently this is because the jack has difficulty recognising what is a headset and what is a set of headphones and starts autodialling like made. This makes it pretty much unusable as a music device. It, of course, works absolutely perfectly with the POS headphones you get with the Desire...

If anybody on here has the same problem, I'd appreciate a real fix (I've downloaded 'Headset Blocker' from the Android market and it hasn't resolved the issue for me). What I'd really like to do is completely and utterly disable the headset feature so that, no matter what I plug into the headphone jack the Desire will NEVER see it as a headset because I don't use a headset and never will - I think using a headset on a phone makes you look like a comnplete and utter tool.

    It's OK.
    It's on my profile...

Pretty much the main reason I'm interested in IT is to learn more about things we never used to need and how to hate them more.

Has anybody for the citrix receiver to work on presentation 4 based deployments (also we do not have a domain, which might be a problem cause the receiver requires a domain to be specified).

Is the Droid X coming to UK/Eire this year? I might stick with my work 9700 until this thing launches and then get a Droid X instead of a Desire...

    aaaarrrrrgh!

Debated long and hard over what to get come upgrade time. In fact, I may well change before my contract terms ends (12th July).

I have done heaps of research on the Desire and the more I see, the more I want one!

I have just upgraded my handset and contract with T-Mobile to £20 a month, unlimited internet access, 600 free minutes anytime, 500 free text messages and free calls anytime to landlines. All this with the free HTC Wildfire junior brother to HTC desire:)

Review coming in the near future after I get my greasy fingers on the HTC Wildfire:)

I have had the desire for a week and think it is a great phone. Dont have many apps on it as i cant pull myself away from robo defense.

The only downside is the small storage space and the volume being pretty low.

The wildfire can be bought on PAYG for about £230.

What apps do you all use as I only have stupid ones and a bus time table thats kind of handy.

    I use several useful applications:
    • Advanced Task Killer - many people say that the HTC manages it's applications itself and you do not need to close them, but I still like to anyway!
    • AndroZip - managing files and folders stored on your SD Card
    • ColorNote - great for taking quick notes, and making check lists
    • ConvertDroid - about every converter you could possibly need (weights, time, distance etc.)
    • ExtremeTypist - see your wpm
    • Facebook Touch - better than standalone application
    • Golf Card - play golf a lot, and this is great tool with distance finder and scorecards. Shows 50 closest courses based on your location too!
    • SMS Popup - have a notification pop up on your screen with a preview of the message, very handy!
    • Quick battery w/Quick Settings - widget for displaying battery life and diagnostics and usage
    • Weather Forecast - widget for weather (how did you guess?)

It is just a basic game where you have to build defense type towers to stop different types of robots getting from one side to the other. Doesnt sound that great but is addictive. There is a free version on the app market.

I will have a look at sms popup and also facebook touch
