    Hi everyone.

I'm A+ certified and now have got an MCDST.

I'm going to be made redundant on the 16th of December from my company as they've gone into administration. So its a kick up the arse to get into an IT career as Ive always wanted.

Whats the best way to start? register on online agencies like reed and apply for 1st line support jobs through their site? or should I go to an agency on the high street where I speak face to face with someone? just would like to know the best way as Ive already wasted 6 years in the retail job I'm in.

Btw I have no IT work experience but Ive been using and studying computers all my life.

    Thanks!

Yeah! what you have stated is the way to go and also look on the guardian online for jobs, metro newspaper. I would also concentrate on applying for 1st line and helpdesk support roles as they often times only require good customer skills and communication.

Tidy up your CV and start hitting Jobserve, Jobsite, Monter and techjobs. Best wishes and remember get a good book on interview skills i.e. 135 interview answers.

All the best and lets know how you get on:)

Applying to get into entry level IT isn't really any different to applying to get into any other type of work.
I think it's only when you get into the more specialised stuff that you might want to look at certain specific agencies etc.
Reed often have IT roles advertised, and I've found that a good place to try is often local authority websites.
