How many attempts did it take for you to pass your driving test?

I passed a few weeks ago 4th time round. Left it pretty late as I'm in my late 20s but became attached to my Yamaha motorbike so never really wanted a car. I have a car now, but still prefer to ride my motorbike and cut through traffic.

I passed first time, took it after uni at 21. I might get a moped for shits and giggles.

 

I read an article where one guy has taken over 20 tests and not passed.. I do know someone personally who took 7 attempts

One person mentioned has failed 86 times... and someone else has failed the theory 110 times.. Personally I feel if I had failed again, I would have done it one maybe two times more then probably not bother.

 

I passed first time, but I had about 60 hours of lessons. It took me a long time to gain enough confidence to go for a test. I was so nervous that I read out the numberplate wrong at the start, where you have to prove you can see well enough to take the test, and nearly failed before I'd got in the car. I corrected myself though and it was fine.

I think I had seven minor offences. I can't remember what they were, probably to do with hesitancy.
