    Hi everyone,

I discovered the forums today following a google search and after reading a number of threads I thought I'd sign up as this community could be just what I need.

I'm 33 and have been working in games testing for the past 4 years. I've always been interested in programming but never done well at getting far from the starting block. As my current contract is due to end in the next few months I've been considering making the switch from games testing to software testing (while I slowly grasp the art of programming in C#) but unsure of how easy a transition that would be.

My first step has been to order the ISEB Software Testing Foundation book so I can work through that and take the exam to get certified as this will hopefully give me some extra credit when applying for roles.

Sorry I'm waffling. Just wanted to say hi, and hopefully I'll get to know you guys and gals a bit better over the coming months :D

Has anyone ever made the switch from games testing to software testing? If so do you have some advice on where I should start?

    Cheers
