Bleah. Just when I thought I might have escaped what my kidlets had for the past week, I got it.

I'm on Tylenol Sinus/Allergy to keep the fever and stuffiness down while I try to get work done.

Bad news, have a hot bath and a hot toddy before you go to bed. Incase you don't know a hot toddy is a generous table spoon of honey a shot of whiskey and some boiling water in a cup. Works wonders when you feel like death.

 

Already had the hot shower this morning when I woke up feeling like death.

The only alcohol we have in the house is in the form of Theraflu... which I just might take late tonight. Thanks for the advice!

I am "up and on with it"... I'm working. Only reason I'm not in the office is because I don't want to infect the rest of the staff.

And I SO wish this were just a case of the "man flu". I've got an actual fever.

 

I know I'll pay for this, but I haven't been sick in quite awhile. Must be the health regime the missus put me on awhile back.

Count your blessings Trip.

I spend a lot of time at a nearby nursing home and they've been hit pretty hard. Listening to some of these elderly folk coughing and choking and knowing that there is little you can do to make them comfortable can get a little heart wrenching. One in particular, passed away the other night. She was just too weak to go on.

The Better Half and I had been bragging that we hadn't been sick, so much as a cold, for over two years now. Well, guess what I brought home. Now I'm staying at home for a few days as well.

 

Ew! I'm not gonna touch that after it's been in yer butt!

 

Sorry to hear you got it, Bill. I heard that it's supposed to be a mild strain... but it's not hitting me very mildly!

 

Didn't hit me real bad. Just enough to make me miserable. Heck, I've had hangovers when I was younger that were worse. A lot of the people in the home are not in the best of health anyway. Can't even imagine what they were going through.

The lady that passed had asked to be wheeled down the hall earlier that day. Just wasn't like her. She was always willing to take a lift if you offered, but just never asked. We knew she was feeling kind of rough, but didn't expect that.

Well, hope you get better soon.

 

I'd like to request that you continue to stay home until the flu passes. I've been sick several times already over the past few months. I don't want to get sick again.

Interestingly, this is a great reason for telecommuting...if one person in the office gets sick, it often travels to other people.

 

OH go blow your nose and stop whinning about it. Man up dude!

Seriously, sorry to hear that you are feeling that bad though. Get some vicks for your chest at night. It will settle there if you got the same thing as Joe and I had in jan. And it sounds like you do. Its gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

 

That's kind of why I'm at home now for a few days. I'm sure most of the people there understand why I don't stop in to visit and I really don't want to keep passing it back and forth.

 

Seriously, sorry you are under the weather. That's one of the consequences of having small children. Just in your honor, I developed a small, runny nose this afternoon. Had to go get a box of tissues and everything (this was sometime after coming back from my lunch hour visit to the gym).

My kids have it now... Which means the sleepless nights has begun
...and now you're telling me I should prepare to go through it too? This doesn't sound like fun!

I hope they get better soon Sunn. It is never easy when dealing with sick kids. Even worse when they are grown men though.

 

Funny, that’s what my wife says about grown men too – but I don’t know who she’s referring too

I must admit, not having to drive in is nice. But it's not worth the current trade off!

Yep, get ready... that's where I got it from. Try not kissing your kids when they're sick, and you'll realize that there's really no way around catching it.
