    Hi all

I'm hoping somebody might be able to help me resolve an issue I have receiving email for exchange with my home lab. Exchange seems to be configured correctly - I can send from it with no issues. Emails will bounce back when you try to send to the user. I’ve configured SMTP-Out connector, do you need to set an inbound? Assumed it was automatic..

    Setup Overview:
Physical server running W2K3 and Exchange 2K3
Wired connections to a switch which is wired to the router.
Dynamic IP with DynDNS host to pointo the IP (via the DD-WRT software on the router)
MX record resolves to the dynamic IP just fine through the “dyn” host
On the router configured NAT on port 25 pointing to the Exchange Server box IP
Exchange and AD configured with address policies.

    Inbound SMTP E-Mail (www.testexchangeconnectivity.com) report:
    Fails on
"Testing TCP port 25 on host 'DOMAIN' to ensure it's listening and open.
The specified port is either blocked, not listening, or not producing the expected response."

    Delivery Status Notification:
    “No route to host”

Can anybody point me in the right direction? I would greatly appreciate it as it’s been bugging me for a few days now. Beginning to wonder if its and ISP issue (Virgin Fiber Optic), but doubt they’ll block Port 25.

    Any questions let me know.

    Regards
    Adam

Actually that is common on a home broadband connection.

From another device on the LAN try to telnet onto the Exchange server on port 25. If that works try again with telnet with the WAN IP.

Thanks for the reply, I'll give that a try over the weekend.
