    Orite fellas, and ladies

Thought I'd introduce myself before hounding everyone on the Cisco and microsoft boards.

Anyway, been working in 1st line support for about 4 years now, last year I decided i was gonna have to try and get some certification in order to move up the ladder. So I enrolled on the Cisco Network academy and started doing my ccna. I passed my ccna1 but then the college I was at had to put the course on hold due to people dropping out. So, I started to do an MCP in xp pro to tide me over till the ccna 2 starts. but i've gotta say its not really interesting me as much as the cisco stuff.

anyway, no doubt i will be posting a view threads on here so i'll catch you later.

    cheers

Hi and welcome aboard. Did you do N+ before Cisco? If not how did you find the content of CCNA?

Boyce, No, didnt do the a+. Had a good understanding of IT from doing an a level in IT and then working on a serice desk for what feels like forever.

I found the CCNa to be challenging, but if you put the hours in and get your head round subnetting you will be fine. My tutor had shown us the binary way of subnetting, but I was struggling to follow it. Then a stand in tutor showed me another way and the penny finally dropped.

go for it, put the work in and you'll never look back. I enjoyed it more than doing this MCP i'm doing, better study material...but I suppose its what you wanna do.

Jellybelly, Nah, its a nickname of my Polish surname, but jellybelly is easier to say and spell.

    have a good NY :biggrin
