Just had a meeting with a Computeach guy. Went well and all but i almost had a heart attack at the cost. Considering doing an MCAD with an aim to progressing onto an MCSD.

Does anyone here know of anyone who has, or is studying for a cert on his/her own? If so please le me know as I am tempted to either take a fully online option or take the plpunge and go it alone.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,

    L

    Hi Phil,

Well, my biggest concern is getting the right material.

After having read some of the threads here I feel that Computeach can stick it. I already have a Bsc so am capable of learning and studying from books etc.

Where should I get the material from?

    Cheers,

    L

Your best bet is Amazon or the cheapest supplier you can find. Everybody has their own favourite publishers for training material, not having done MCAD I'm afraid I can't be much help there. Best advice is to get a range of material and not just rely on one book, if the MCSE stuff is anything to go by they all have weaknesses so you're more likely to cover everything you need to.

I have been considering buying the course from ICS. Have you ever heard anything about them? Or has anyone ever purchased one of their courses?

I haven't come across them before, it would be interesting to hear from anybody who has purchased a course from them.

Hi Larim1979 and welcome to the forum. My advice would be to hop it to the local computer bookshop and spend a day there looking through the respective training books and seeing which ones appeal to you.

Thanks a lot everyone for the Welcome. Will be here for awhile. The more I think about it the more it looks like I am going to go it alone. Obviously keeping in touch here for support etc. If that is alright.

Would Still like to hear from someone re: ICS though.
