I join this forum site because I was interested in what people had to say about Scheidegger as I have just started one of their courses.

I have also recently signed up for PC Master & Maintenance course plus the A+,N+,CCNA & CCNP. Just reading what some people have written could - on face value - be a bit thought provoking to say the least.

My courses are costing me £100 per month for the next 3 and a half years, so I need to know if I'm doing the right thing. Computers and computing have always interested me since spending hours typing in a centipede game on the ZX81 (1KB) and then switching it off and having to type it all again another day.

I will continue with my course and iron out the wrinkles as I go, I 'm learning new stuff all the time and not just from SkillsTrain, although I will say the "Advisor" who spoke to me said I would be gauranteed a job with Cisco Systems as they have a massive short fall in IT workers and they will only train people because they need them, he also said that a FULL refund would be given if they cannot find me a suitable position when I'm qualified.

Maybe I've got blinkers on - we'll see.

Hi RedBaz, and welcome to CF :)

I would ask for that in black and white before you put any belief in it. Highly unlikely.

Hmm Cisco Systems? If they offering you in Cisco ill sign up now! :biggrin Welcome to CF Barry... im sure alot of people have been told just the same thing.. but has anyone actually got a job in cisco? or finished the A+ through the CCNP? im a little too sceptical when that kind of offer is on the table.

Ah yes and that gave you a massive 16K RAM and the ability to crash your system at will, with a slight wiggle of the external module

That's the one Bluerinse. There you would be copying a prog into it and someone would knock the table and all your lovely game would be lost :x.

We had a Commador PET as well. This was at school when I was in my final year and that was the last I saw of computers for about 10 years :ohmy

    Ah, happy days.

I put a Spectrum emulator on my PC but it just isn't the same.
The games load in 0.2 seconds though, which is a big improvement on 15 minutes.
