Work are sending me out to Baku. I leave on Tuesday sometime, and dont fly back until the 8th of August.

Should be fun - although I dont cope well with heat and sun. Might be a problem.

Azerbaijan

 

what you doing out there anything exciting?

 

Not massively. We have a raft of changes to be made to a VB3 application being used out there. So we're going out to work on those changes for a couple of weeks.

Should be interesting though.

 

Azerbaijan is awesome. Spent three weeks there in the late nineties. If you get the chance, try to visit Sheki and Xacmaz.

Sheki is in the foothills of the Caucasus and has some of the most beautiful islamic architecture you will ever see, and is a pleasant respite from the baking heat of Baku.

Xacmaz is a bit of a tourist resort, but has some stunning scenery, beautiful beaches and the best of Azeri cuisine.

 

Cheers for the heads up. I'll try, although its a working visit, so we'll be working 6 days out of 7. nightmare.

 

I certainly hope not. If I do, its likely to need some reference to a lobster!!!
