    Hi everyone!

I'm about to embark on an online training course with the CT College, dependant on the outcome of my meeting with them this Friday pm.

The information provided by their website www.ctcollege.co.uk is limited, and i've been sent no information to prepare me for the meeting they have organised with me for Friday.

Has anyone taken courses with them or have any information relating to their reputation and success rates? I'm anxious about what I will get in return for my hard earned cash!

    Thanx, Twiggy :)

Just wondering if your forum handle was inspired by this famous British model from the 1960s?

I only wish that it was... i'm not old enough to really remember the original Twiggy, and was merely christened with the nick name as a result of being skinny as a rake at school, alas, i was not blessed with a models stance or looks

    Hi there!

I'm with CTCollege too. Davver: i would like to know what you have to say about them. I have loads of bad notes for them...

Oh, yes, twiggy. I'd suggest you not to join them. I hope it's not too late.

Basically what they offer is a tiny bit more thatn what you would get self-studying. So, I think I wasted some money.

I think you should get Meyers book and that's it... it costs much much less .....

Otherwise, if you still want to stay with some training provider, well i can only say, look further... that's definitely not a good choice. The salesperson is actually a liar and, i so want to meet him again to have a lil chat, but obviously he won't answer the phone.

I think their tutors don't really know what they're doing. I have never needed to ask any technical question (this forum is great for that), but I did ask something about the exams and the 'lab sessions', and their answer was very vague, the guy sounded so fake and almost bored. You can understand how pissed off I am, I don't like not to be answered when I paid them a not small sum of hard worked money.

Ultimately, their study material is very very different from the classic meyers book. Those books look like they intend to prepare you just for the exam, they don't really aim at training a good tech... and I'm not even sure on that (if you can pass the exam with such a small amount of infos). Besides, it's written really bad, it's not Meyers style and you can't quite understand it. I mean, it doesn't explain why things work in that way or how engineers developped things (I think this is fundamental to understan at least the functioning of today's technology). They just mention things, a bit like you're supposed to learn the whole thing, with no reasonment or deductions (by the way I find it really hard to learn in that way, I'm used to a logical approach to things as I think most people in this field are)

So, yeah, if you want to spend a lot of money for some worthless books and some tutors who don't do their job... go for it mate!!

I don't feel to throw fire on them yet, let's wait for my lab sessions, maybe I'm gonna completely change my mind... maybe not...

    post soon

I too have been fleeced by these crooks. Some people are getting somewhere though. I am putting a case for the small claims court together, and this info was passed on to me by Trading Standards.......

(Computer Training College Ltd) Company No.04324847.

This company was at court (Magistrates Court St Albans) on 14th June 2006. They pleaded guilty to 6 offences between August and November 2004, under the Consumer Protection Act section 20( Misleading pricing etc). There are further cases against them going to court currently / shortly. They have been charging very high prices and providing very poor service and generally misleading students. I have personal experience of this and will be taking them to the small claims court if they do not agree to refund my money (£2400 so far, for nothing) Up to December 2005 they had losses up to one million pounds. The fines in the recent case were £10,500 and £2000 in costs. You may wish to look into this and then sever any connection with them. I am looking for people who are having trouble with these people to join together and get as many small claims court cases against them as possible. It may be possible to join together and get this into the Magistrates Court. If you know of any other people who are experiencing trouble with them, please let me know. Even if you are not having problems yet, I would be interested to hear what they may have promised you. Hopefully you did not sign up with them in the first place. If you need to know more please let me know......

Hope this is useful to someone.........

Hello and....hey wait a moment this is an old post???

But hello to cybervortex sorry you had a rough deal with CTCollege I wish you had spoken to the members on CF before signing up!

I know some of the CF members probably don't know CT-college. They are based at Potters Bar in London!

Anyway I sure the CF members here could of shown you that self study is a better way to go!

I applied to CT college as well, the info they sent me and their website didn't impress me. They wanted to send a salesman round as well, but wouldn't tell me what their fees are. I had a bad gut feeling about them. So I cancelled the appointment!

Anyway, another firm who are very helpful, are itlearneasy! Maybe you should try them or NITLC!

    Good luck

Hello cybervortex. I saw your post and am happy to reply.
I also want to make a claim but I don't know where. They are really liars, bad service and attitude, misleading prices. They also say they have a job placement program which is simply registering your detals in an online job bank:x And when I asked about it the answer was that I am unemployable as I haven't got another certificate for which they've never mentioned during the course.
Please let me know if you've put a claim against them and I'll be grateful if you give me some advice how to do it myself.
    Many thanks Nikolay

Um, seeing as the last two people who posted about them (and by the way, only posted once and didn't come back) had nothing but complaints about them, what do you think?
