Yes - the classroom setting does let you meet other people, and thus it can help you network. However, the other thing the classroom setting does is get people into a learning mode (for those that need an outside influence). Most of us are self-learners, but there are some that actually learn better getting instructions from a ‘teacher’. The problem is finding a place that’s respectable.

This isn’t a vote to find a training partner, but it is another “factor to consider”. :)

just had the man from computeach round, very interesting!!!!!!!

For me to do a IC3, A+ and MCDST it costs £2750. To then do a MCSA, MCSE and CompTIA security+ it would then costs roughly an extra £3750. All in all £6500.

Seems a bloody lot of money.

Theres local colleges offering IC3, A+ and MCDST for around £800-£1000, much better value for money and a saving of around £2000 !!!

Colleges also do MCSA for around £1000. Although really you should have some experience.

MCSE is an advanced cert, if you've got enough knowledge and experience for MCSE or Security+ then you shouldn't need a course !

So yep the cost is pretty high !
