Looking to get on the I.T ladder!!
Was in the Manufacturing Industry for 20 years and was made redundant 4 months ago,i saw this as a chance to get into something ive always wanted to do,ive been into computers since the old Windows 95 days!!
Ive been looking on this forum for some pointers and found that the Comptia A+ was the first thing to look at.....
So ive bought the Mike Meyers books A+ and also N+,also been watching the Professer Messer videos,all very interesting stuff,but seems at bit outdated....
What our members thoughts on this?

Good choice of certs to start off with.

I'm sure someone who has sat these exams will be along soon with more helpful info, but in the mean time...

Remember that the CompTIA are constantly updating the exams, so make sure you have the correct editions.

I believe the current A+ exams are version 7 (701 & 702) there was also a supplemental addition to this due to the release of MS Windows 7.
The 8th edition (801 and 802) is being released this Sept.

As long as the books match-up with the exams you are sitting there's no problem...
