I stayed on park campus halls but attended lectures on avenue.

where ever you start i'd recommend home learning. Read through the forum threads and you'll find recommended books for pretty much any course you want.

If you're a UK national and have not undertaken any higher education your costs are usually part subsidised by the government. As others have said theres no way a HNC or foundation degree should cost as much as £5000 per year. I'd seriously reccomend getting advice from careers advisors, local colleges, train to gain etc, see whats available and what funding options exist.

Some people get a lucky break and work their way up without qualifications, however this is by no means certain, so I'd advise at least doing a HNC/foundation degree part time as a back up option.

What interests you about IT ? What do you enjoy learning about ? Whats your current experience level / qualifications ?

Generally being a programmer requires a commitment to lifelong learning, its not an easy gig ! :D

I'm an American student in a technical college in the Southeastern U.S. It really feels great to join the forums here. I hope to soon become a regular contributor soon, I'm in only my second semester in tech school though.
I only pray that the guru's here are merciful!.....JK! Anyway thanks for having me aboard!
