Its loosing a lot of coolent there is no leak, so it must be the head gasket which is cheap to buy but because of where it is in then engine means it takes a lot of labour (where the cost is) because the engine has to be removed and the gasket replaced.

So when Garages charge £60-£70 per hour for labour and the head gasket job is around 8 hours or more work then you're talking serious money.

I think I'll be lucky if the cost is under £600 just when I am getting a £400 bonus from work and thought I had extra money to play with.

Yeah - that's such a cheek!! My hubby had his turbo fail to pick up on his car. Turns out that it was just a sensor that went - part was £30. Labour was £90 - tis crazy!!

Typical - Ah well, at least you're getting a bonus and it covers most of it.....sorry, not really helping there!! When your work's finished, go home, put your feet up, and relax with nice cool Lager!

I'll be having more than just one cool larger, I've got eight in the fridge plus another 12 in the pantry (my fridge isn't big enough to accomodate them all).

I'll save some for tommorow night too 8)

To answer your question, I've been hired as a contract writer for a place called iAnywhere which is owned by Sybase. The start date isn't etched in stone but should be sometime next week. I've been using the time to go over the chapters of my new book which is good since there's a bit of shuffling around to do. The missus has me changing my diet so I can lose weight and generally feel better. It involves throwing a bunch of veggies in a blender and making "green smoothies". She's at work tonight so I'm cheating and having a couple of beers. :shhhh:
